It has been a while!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and excited about the up coming holiday! I think I am more excited about the weekend after Thanksgiving! I get to go on a shopping trip with my mom, sister and sister in law Kathy to IKEA in MN. I am sure we will have to stop a couple other places as well!!!! Plus we are going to help my mom get all the christmas presents bought for the greatgrand kids. I love buying kids presents!!!!

So I have big news!!!! I finally got my letter stating my application for my RPT (Registered Play Therapist) has been approved!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I am soooooo excited! I have been stalking the mailman for this letter for the past couple weeks! I was a little worried that they would say my grad school classes would not meet their criteria. YAY YAY!!!! What a relief!!!!I think that the next closest RPT is Cedar Falls which is an hour and a half away! Here is the website if you want to go check out what play therapy is!! I will try to post a link on the side of the blog later.

Here are a couple of my latest lo's. The first two are made with my November Kraft Girls Kit. There is a link to that site on the side.

I also finished the pages for my December Daily Album inpired by Ali Edwards. Here is a link to her posts about it. http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/december-daily-album-2008.html

I think I will wait to post it until the end of Dec when all the pics are in it! Maybe later I will take a pic of the whole thing as a little sneak peek!

I hope everyone has a super duper fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness I love this bedding!!!! I so want to get it for Brynn's room. Yes I know that she will not be getting a "big girl" bed until she is four and her and my tastes may change but it is SOOOOOO cute!!!! It has everything that I love right now! Owls and Trees!! The bed skirt even has leaves all over it! And look at the cute little pillow that matches!!! It has a B on it! FOR BRYNN!!! It was made for her...RIGHT!!! You can check it all out here http://www.potterybarnkids.com/srch/index.cfm?action=kwd&words=brooke&searchform=1

A scrappy update

I thought I would do a little scrappy update! I have gotten a lot of pages done lately so here are a few of them. I was lucky enough to win a couple online challenges in Oct. Yay fre scrappy stuff!! Plus the prizes are totally great! I won for the bright pink lo I posted awhile ago. That one won on the Scrap stars site (link on the side).

THis first layout won on the Scrap Schemes site (link on the side). It is all about the funny things that Brynn says. We had to use a plate they had as our inspiration. I love making circle lo's!

This one won on the Dream girls site (link on the side, again!) We had to use lace, we were not allowed to use pattered paper and it had to be all pink and black in honor of breast cancer month. This lo is of a girl that took care of Laney and Brynn at their daycare. She moved to NY and we miss her ver much. SHe was definately Laneys buddy!!!
this next one we had to use a song called heaven help me by Gretchen Wilson. It is one of my new favs and I need to add it to my play list!!! I had to use some pick on this one too so I decided to use some cool pink bubble wrap that my awesome scrappy friend Theresa sent me awhile ago! This lo is for the GOt Mojo? site. The challenge was using the quote "so you think you can..." I got this fun Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy line when I was at scrap fest and I love it! I keep using it on all my out door lo's! These pics were taken at my brother and sister in law's house. THey have a great place! This lo is awesome! I made me smile to make it. It was a challenge for THe Story Matters. You had to scrap an Urban legand or ghost story. I made a lo of how I think our house is haunted! I really like our ghosts though. They seem to be really nice. I took pics of where we have seen the little girl ghost. THen this weekend when I was telling Tim's aunts from SD about it, his grandma said that a mom, dad and little girl (while they were living in our house) were killed by a train!!!! Oh I totally bet it is them!!!!! I think I might have to do some research about this!!!

I really don't like this lo much at all but I love this pic!!!! I have been trying to scrap the pic for a long time but just can't seem to do it justice! But here it is anyway and at least it will be in Laney's book now!My goodness!!! THat is a lot of lo's to post all at once!!! Thanks for taking the time to look!!!!

I hope you have a great week!!!

This is a long one!!!!

WOW!!! Who did a bad job on their blog in Oct?! Yup, I know! Sooooo, I will try to give little updates on everything.

First we went to my cousins wedding in Cedar Rapids. It was really fun and we got to see all of my cousins and even Brian, Stephanie and Caden who we rarely get to see!!! I linked their blog on the side. This was the girls first real wedding and they LOVED IT!!! The pretty dresses, the food and the DANCE!!! Oh man Laney loved the dance! Ever since the wedding we have been playing Shannon and Dane and wedding. Laney is Shannon and Brynn gets to be Dane and we have multiple weddings with pretend rings, kisses and throwing the flowers. Then we have a big dance in the living room. They crack me up but Tim doesn't always like the whole role playing thing! LOL!!!! here are some pics from the wedding. You can click on Stephanie and Brians blog to see more pics from the wedding.
The beautiful bride and groom

the girls and their cousins

Oh how we loved the bubbles! We used them all up before Shannon and Dane even got outside

My mom, Hannah, my grandma, Abby (my sister), and Laney

So out next topic will be pumpkin carving!!!!! YAY! Who doesn't love a little pumpkin guts?! Well Brynn, thats who! LOL!!!! She is such a little boy so much of the time but she was not all about the pumpkin guts. We had to help her a little with that part. I love the smell of carved pumpkins though! The girls then drew the faces on the pumpkins that they wanted carved. Laney made the best faces when she was drawing. Trying to make the face on the pumpkin look like the face she was making.

You know you can't leave with out seeing out little spooks on Halloween! Brynn went as Yoda and Laney as Hannah Montana. THey were both so excited about getting dressed up and going trick or treating. We went to Thornton to trick or treat. The weather could not have been nicer! I don't remember the last time there was a Halloween and we didn't have to wear our winter coats! It was such a nice night to walk around town. People were outside handing out treats and kids were just playing. We ended up at Grandma and Grandpas house and met up with our cousins. That was (as always) big fun!!!! Here are some pictures from the night.

grandpa Gene as Hannah Montana!!!

Ok I think that enough of an update for now!! I had some fun scrappy news this month but I will wait and post that later. It is getting late and I have to work on Tuesday!!! UGH!

Great week!!

WOW!! What a great week we have had! We got to see lots of people and got lots done. Plus for the most part the girls were much better!! LOL!!!

First we were able to see my mom (grandma kick). SHe was at a quilters retreat in a small town up here so we went out to lunch with her and went back to the retreat to see the goats and chickens. She and her friend Bobbi made these super cute crowns and let the girls wear them during lunch, how brave of them.

Then this weekend we went to our college homecoming at Wartburg College U RAH RAH RAH!!!!!!!!!! It was so much fun and we got to see some of our best friends! You know there are people that you will be friends with no matter what and how long it is between when you see them? Well Moose and Johnna are those kinds of friends. Tim and Moose have been friends since Wartburg and they get together at least a couple times a year. And we TOTALLY need to go up and see them in WI (that is for you Johnna!!!!)

The kids all played together after a shy start. But then they played all day and just kept going and going and going!!!! My they have a lot of energy!!! Tim and Moose took them to the pool for a while too. Johnna and I got to just sit and talk. That was nice. Here are some pics from the day!

Have a great week!!!!!!!

Kids - 2568...Parents - 0

Yes that would be the score of today. The girls totally beat us!!! Mind you it is Monday, so that means that I worked and TIm and I only spent a couple of hours with them tonight and they still beat us by that much!!!! They were INSANE tonight!!! I even broke out my famous "if you don't stop I am going to eat your faces!!!!!" Yeah, it totally didn't work!!! I am not sure that most children's therapists would take that same approach. I am not sure but I think that I just heard a thump upstairs of someone falling out of bed. Good thing TIm is up there to save them.

So I know that I said that I would post pumpkin patch pics and never did. So I will do that now! Then I am off to bed so that I don't have to eat any children tomorrow!

When we were at this "patch" picking out pumpkins there were lots of fun Halloween creatures everywhere. Brynn was a little nervous around them. THen she saw something that she thought was a bird. So she went over to it and was mid sentence saying that the bird was not scary and it opened it's eyes and started talking and flaping its wings!!!!! AAAHHHH!! It was a big gargoile statue!! Oh my goodness Laney and I giggled and Brynn ran and hid behind my leg! She was NOT impressed!!!! She decided that she was not going to go near anything else no matter how nice it looked. The lady that worked there took pity on them and gave them little bags of popcorn. That seemed to fix it all!

Here is Laney with a pic of all but two of the pumpkins that we picked out.

My favorite one is the lumpy one. Kind of like me!!! He he he he!
Last night we went on a hayrack ride with our church. It was pretty fun! We got to take our friend Lauren with us too. I have to ask her mom first before I can post pictures of it though!
Ok I am off to bed now! Have a great night!!!

We are officially farmers

Tim finally made the decision. He has been thinking about for a while now and has been looking at numbers until his head is swimming!!! But this Friday he made the decision to stay with it. So we took the girls out to his grandparents farm (where the farm land is) to take some rides in the tractors!!! Very fun! The girls rode in the tractor and in the combine. We got a couple pics of them.

Here is a pic of Tim's grandparents, his dad, Tim and the girls. I think Tim's grandpa and dad are pretty excited that he is going to be farming too!!

Brynn even tried a soy bean. She saw the grandpas eating them straight out of the pod so she did too. She said that she liked it! LOL!! Laney was not as adventurous. They loved seeing how everything worked and loved visiting Grandpa Harold and Grandma Ola.

Autumn Leaves

We spent much of the day out in the leaves. It was so nice here!!!! Brynn and Laney kept wanting me to throw them into the leaves. Then we had to play dragons where Brynn stole the "eggs" and ran away giggling!!! Tomorrow is a preschool day. Lots of errands and maybe a visit to the pumpkin patch!

Here are some pics from the day.
